Qu Suchen

Personal profile:

Qu Suchen, female, is currently studying for a doctorate degree in Chinese pharmacy at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine School of Medicine and School of Integrative Medicine. During the master's degree, he studied the antidepressant mechanism of Kaixin Powder in regulating the central nervous inflammatory system at the Collaborative Innovation Center of the Industrialization Process of Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources in Jiangsu Province. The previous research reports on the antidepressant mechanism of Kaixin Powder focused on neurotransmitter and neurotrophic factor systems, but there are very few reports on its effectiveness and mechanism in regulating central nervous system inflammation. Therefore, we intend to study the antidepressant effect and mechanism of Kaixin Powder in regulating central inflammatory cytokine levels, and provide more modern scientific explanations for further elucidating the scientific connotation of the Chinese medicine compound Kaixin Powder for multi-target antidepressants. The main research methods involve: Western Blot, PCR, primary cell culture technology, cytotoxicity experiment, CUMS depression animal model construction, animal behavior evaluation, stereotactic injection technology in the mouse, etc.

Three representative research papers in recent years:

  1. Suchen Qu, Cheng Cao, Mengqiu Liu, et al. Chinese medicine formula Kai-Xin-San ameliorates neuronal inflammation of CUMS-induced depression-like mice and reduces the expressions of inflammatory factors via inhibiting TLR4/IKK/NF-κB pathways on BV2 cells (under review)

  2. Qu Suchen, Cao Cheng, Qi Mingzhu et al. Study on the antidepressant mechanism of Chinese medicine compound Kaixin San on regulating hippocampal inflammatory cytokine levels in chronic stress-stressed mice[J].World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine,2019,21(11 ): 2302-2309.
